Bilateral Osteotomy Question
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:47:37 AM »
I had a bilateral Osteotomy in July of 2011 and was wondering if anyone could help me answer some questions I have. How long does it take for the pain to go away? After almost two years should I be able to run again? I am still having tons of pain in my left leg running. I would really like to get back to the sports I play but this is really holding me back.

I would definitely go back and ask your OS this question, as well as to find out what is the reason(s) you still have pain in your leg.

Everyone's result from surgery is different, so even if some people are back running, some people may not be able to.  I'm years out from surgery and still am having issues.

My personal opinion after having had an HTO, I would definitely give up running to save what knee I have left.  Not sure what sports you play, but I would consider doing other exercise.

Just my opinion.....
