I slipped and fell and need to know if i should go to a clinic
« on: January 15, 2013, 12:30:09 AM »
let  me rephrase what I was trying to say:
I had recently  slipped and fell on a tile floor. I hit my knee going down and now feel pain on the knee and on the back of it also. It hurts to bend and I feel pain as i gradually put pressure on it.Now I have been RICE it but now 3 days later it is not getting better...should I keep on RICEing it or just go to a clinic?

And yes this is my first time with a knee injury so I am new at this

Actually that has to be one of the most stupid questions I have seen to date on this forum!

If it hurts enough for you to get on the internet to ask a bunch of complete strangers, surely the time would have been better spent going to see a real doctor to get the knee checked out? By the time everyone reads this and responds, you read the answers and maybe make a decision, the knee will either be better or you will have already seen someone in real life.

Hi College Girl,

This is your first post, and I'm guessing you're young and perhaps haven't had much experience of the medical side of life. Which is fair enough! I'd just like to say hi and welcome to KGs - we are a nice bunch really and you can ask any questions you want and get an honest answer. If we don't know, well try and point you in the right general direction at least...

Yes, go. Go today and get it checked out and get the reassurance you want. The docs won't mind looking at a knee that has been hit hard on a tile surface. Hope you haven't done any real damage - please let us know how you got on!

Good luck.
