@Teacher2Many

I can't straighten my leg by myself. I think the -3 meant that I still had 3 degrees to get to extension. (Not positive, I just remember my therapist telling me I had -3 on extension)

I can't straighten it doing SLRS, kick outs, or just having my leg on the table.

You can't do SLR or you just have an extension lag?  My suggestion is to sleep with two pillows propped under your ankle as this will work on natural extension but make sure it's under your ankle and not your knee or calf.  Even doing this when watching tv, etc. will work-not the most comfortable sensation but definitely helps to get those last few degrees of extension back.  Not sure why the brace though, as your muscles don't work as much and tend to atrophy more.

Hope you get those last few degrees back-sometimes it seems so simple as it's only a few more but those last few (either in extension or flexion) are the absolute hardest!

@Teacher2Many

I can do a SLR, it's just not a straight one. I've tried every single thing to keep my leg straight especially at night. They said they are pretty sure the brace is working since I could not sleep and it hurts a ton more.

(i've attached a picture of my bent leg raise)

Thank you!

(I went on nov 29th)
My doctor is happy with my extension. I wasnít told whether or not to keep wearing my ROM brace so I will ask PT. Iím supposed to be at full flexion and Iím not. So thatís what I need to work on.

My pre admit appointment is dec 6 at 9:30. Surgery is so far the 7th, but If his wife doesnít have her baby then they will induce her on the 7th. So then it will be re scheduled.  He told me to bring this ROM brace to the hospital and I will be wearing that on my left leg when i wake up.

I asked him if it was normal for my knees, hips, elbows, and ankles hurt and he said I need to ask my regular dr to test me for Rheumatoid arthritis, or i think I may have EDS.

4 more days!

I'm going to make a new topic for my left knee surgery.

Today in PT I wanted to do something new. I did the treadmill for the first time, walking backwards, on 2.5 mph for 5 minutes. Single leg wobble board. 90 on leg press. 45 on single leg. 30 pushing down on hamstring curls, 10 pulling up. Then he brought me to the arm lifting weight bar thing and put it the same height of my head and I had to squat under it and keep going to both sides. I did all my regular matt stretches but they added the bolster pulls.

Tomorrow will be my last therapy appointment doing everything I can with both legs. I will be going to therapy for my right knee while being on crutches for my left one after surgery. I don't know how it is going to work out haha

This knee is holding up pretty good for being on crutches for my other one. But i've only been around my house. If I go out the house i'll wear my breg brace

It feels pretty weird to be sleeping with this knee not straight.

It's been a year since my first knee surgery! I'm so glad that i'm not with that doctor anymore. He never really wanted to talk about my pain. It was always random stuff not pertaining to my appointment. He was a nice man, just not a good doctor. I've heard nothing but bad things from people about him. It was an exploratory scope. I had MRI's done and nothing showed that would be causing me that much pain. He ended up finding my meniscus was torn in several places, he shaved it, and he removed some plica (bad tissue). It was around a 1-3 month recovery. I was in more pain at 6 months than I was more the surgery! I got kicked out of PT for not progressing. I finally said to hell with it and decided to make an appointment with another doctor in the area. He knew what was wrong with me just by asking where my pain was and my xrays. †I had surgery by him just by seeing him one time in the office. That's how desperate I was with my knee pain. My knee caps were tilted because my MPML ligament in both knees were loose. I've gotten both knees done in less then 3 months apart from each other. I've had a few complications but i'm happy with the results. I may have Rheumatoid arthritis or EDS because my hips, ankles, elbows, and shoulders hurt and are loose. I'm still waiting to do blood work. On the scale for EDS i score a 7 out of 9.

Tomorrow I am 3 months post op.
I've been having this weird pain in my right knee.. I can't explain it. Most of my pain now is at the joint line.

I haven't started anything new in therapy because of my left knee. I am doing single leg squats and heel touches.. but they both hurt a ton.

I'm having more pain in this knee than my recently post op left knee.

Lots of my pain is around the joint line I guess..

my right knee still pops out..
leg pressing 75 on leg press on my right leg

i didn't get to play soccer last year because of my 1st knee surgery. i didn't get to play this year because of the 2 i had. i was really sad. so my coach and the gym coach made up a plan to somehow get me in the senior night game. i had asked my trainer and she said no because i wasn't released. i cried.. so my dad calls my doctor today and asks. our regular trainer wasn't going to be at the game tonight, it was going to be my doctors assistant man who is a trainer. he said he doesn't see why not, but i wasn't allowed to warm up, and my doctor agreed. And i still don't know how to run. i got to wear my shin guards under my big rom brace! my coach had talked to the other team's coaches, the refs, and our trainer again. the plan worked out as: since we got first kick off, i would be playing forward. she passed it up to me, and i kicked to a player on the other team, and she kicked it out, so i could sub out. I was never so happy in my life.
