need help on my knee

I went to the hospital 3 days ago and got a mri on my knee I have a 8 x 8 mm flap of carilage separated from the subchondral bone plate by fluid and there is partial-thickness cartilage loss at the weightbearing aspect of the medial femoral condyle. and a cartilage flap tear and I donot know all the medical terms do I need to get a operation on my knee???

If there is a loose flap of cartilage then most likely you will need surgery to fix it. The MRI should have been recommended by your doctor right? What does he/she suggest that you do?
Have had tilted kneecaps for many years, and occasional patellar tendinitis.

I will see him on the 17 of aug but my knee is swollen and hurts bad  :'( I have been icing it alot.
So I guess I will be off of work for a while.

well my doctor is a a-whole I had to ask him 5 times to see a specialist and then I had a accident comeing off the bus my knee lock and I fell on my knee
and then I went to the hospital and had a MRI on my knee and after I went back to my doctor a week after and he said to me I will now send you to a
 specialist...
