When does patella tendon damage occur?
« on: August 13, 2012, 08:52:41 PM »
In particular when jumping...regarding either the take off or the landing.

I assume if you have patella tracking issues or if you have bad jumping form, it would be the take off.

Otherwise, if you have stability issues, it would be the landing.

Can anyone clarify or toss out their thoughts?

I'm recovering from some really bad tendonosis. I believe it happened because of tracking issues, which I'm pretty sure is now fixed. But in order to keep the tendon healthy and prevent it from getting damaged again, I wanted to know where in my jump I should be focusing my attention. There aren't a lot of videos or instruction on how to jump properly for say volleyball out there, so it seems like I'm pretty much doing this on my own.
