Radiologist and OS Disagree
« on: July 17, 2012, 08:26:22 PM »
Radiologist report said nothing is wrong with my knee, save some degenerative issues in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, but my OS (and my dad who is also an OS) think that this image shows a definite tear. Thoughts?

go with the OS, it reminds me of my MRI when I had a large tear
09/30/07 Diagnosed with partial ACL tear (left knee)
02/03/10 American Football injury, Diagnosed with ACL & MCL complete tear (right knee)
(R)lateral meniscotomy 08/11/10
(L) Lateral meniscotomy 10/28/11
(L) MCL & Medial Meniscus tear 07/12

It looks like there is a tear in the medial meniscus tear of the posterior horn.   I had the same thing twice now both knees.   The OS showed me the picture and it looks the same.   The OS in my opinion read the MRI better than the radiologist.   If I'me not mistaken if your looking at this picture the tear is on the right side.    Of course I'me no doctor but I can see some shawdowing.    Hope this helps you.    LAS

definately not, plus you know your symptoms and ailements, I'd always go with the OS opinion as they also know how your knee performed on the physical exam
09/30/07 Diagnosed with partial ACL tear (left knee)
02/03/10 American Football injury, Diagnosed with ACL & MCL complete tear (right knee)
(R)lateral meniscotomy 08/11/10

(L) MCL & Medial Meniscus tear 07/12
(L) injury 01/23/12

No your not crazy.  Two orthopedics surgeons agree,  I would take their word for it.   LAS
