Makoplasty PFJR Bilateral
« on: May 25, 2012, 03:46:05 PM »
Hello everyone, I am a 37 year old female active and healthy. My knee problems started 4 years ago. I have had 3 scopes and Denovo Nt  tissue  and a LR on both knees. I am scheduled  at Houston Orthopedic and Spine on June 15 Bilateral PFJP by Dr. Henery Blum. Looking for someone who has had both done at the same time.  :o
2009 scope
2010 scope
2010 DeNovo Nt
2011 LR right
2012 LR left

Doctors usually do one major knee surgery at a time. If your doctor is doing both at the same time, it's kind of unusual and scary too.
Have had tilted kneecaps for many years, and occasional patellar tendinitis.

I have only scoped both at once and it was not picnic.  Doable but not fun.  I have heard of other doing bilateral TKRs too.  Can't advice sadly.  Good luck and be prepared to have a bit harder rehab with no "good" leg to stand on as it were.

'83 lt knee scope
'88 lt knee LR
'89 rt knee LR (6 mos. after left)
'05 rt knee scope (clean up)
7/5/07 - scope, LR left, right clean
3/19/08 - LR failed, Supartz failed

Not unusual with replacements to do both at once. Get all the risks of surgery,  pain, and recovery in one shot.
