Nerve pain post TTT
« on: March 27, 2012, 08:56:21 PM »
Hi.  I've posted here a few times and you all have helped me with earlier issues.  I had a TTT 4 years ago with hardware removal the following year.  I have pain below my knee which is severe but not constant.  I had a bone density scan, a CT and MRI.  All normal.  My doc believes I may have nerve pain from nearby scar tissue.  Have any of you had similar issues and what have you done to treat the pain?

Thanks in advance!

I had my TKR 3 1/2 years ago. I have Saphenous Neuritis.  It is a constant, burning, stabbing pain. I went to Stanford Pain Clinic and they did a Saphenous block and Pulse Radiofrequency but I was pain free for only 3 months.  Now I am going to a local Pain Specialist and am on Levorphanol.  If I take it on time and regularly, I can live a "normal" life. I have has consults to see if they can permanently get rid of the pain but they say any intervention can possibly make it worse. My doctor does not recommend another Block because it is temporary. They can not do an MRI to locate the nerve because of the metal in the knee.I used to be very active but now I have to really limit my activities or the pain and swelling returns. Let me know if you have found any interventions that help.
