knee swollen and painful 12 months after mosaicplasty
« on: January 13, 2012, 12:14:02 AM »
I had mosaicplasty (oats?) surgery on my right knee last February and there is still a lot of stiffness, pain and swelling (lots of fluid) in the knee. Painful to walk, impossible to run. My surgeon was scheduled to give me a steroid in it but has decided to put a camera in to look; ie another operation. Have others struggled like this and can you offer any advice? (I'm sick of taking painkillers that don't work as well!)

Hy.I had mosaicplasty 9 months ago performed by doctor Hangody, the developer of the OATS proccedure.
Now I don't have any swelling. There was swelling and pain for aprox.4 months.
Right now I'm experiencing a little bit of pain and disconfort but it's ok.I haven't started running because I also had an ACL surgery at the other knee 6 months after OATS.

Where are you from?Hasn't your doctor recommend an MRI to see what's the problem?
Have you followed a recovery protocol?Do you have full range of motion?full extension?
