Rehabiltation After Microfracture

hello my name i connor and i just had successful microfracture on the lateral femoral condyle

what i dont understand is the surgeon wants me full weight bearing within a week, does this sound right?

i always thought it was 6 weeks at least NWB after microfracture

if it is on the weight bearing side then yes they want you walking. I had mine done on the side  you are talking about, and was walking within a week. Hope it all turns out well for ya!
2006 right knee surgery, meniscus
2008 left knee lateral release,  meniscus
2009 microfracture left knee, lateral meniscus,  fragment
2009 cartilage transplant oats
2010 loose fragment removal, meniscus fraying,found another defect
2010 oats failed, synvesic injections ,2011 right knee meniscus

thank you for the info

im making an incredible quick recovery, im already limited weight bearing, and can do most of the excercises the surgeons wants me to do.

he says the defect will make a 100 percent recovery, and it will be just as strong as my original cartilage if not stronger since im so young

ill be swimming in a week hopefully and return to most activities in a month

i got to watch the whole surgery on the monitor and it was great to learn more info of the problem my knee had

Thats great! just dont go crazy listen to your knee. You will be fine, and good luck to you, always good to hear positive posts.  :)
