Hi All,
My doctor is recommending a course of 3-weekly injections of Orthovisc for my OA medial knee pain. Says that in some cases, people have relief for up to six months.
In talking to someone else at the office, I was told that due to cost, the insurance co's here in the USA may only start allowing 2 rounds of this total (i.e. 3 injections now, 3 in 6+ months and then not again ..).
Has anyone been told they have a limit of rounds of these injections? I called my insurance company, but can't get a straight answer - they only say each case is reviewed for medical necessity. I am betting this is a pretty expensive procedure ...but again, haven't heard any specifics on it.
Thanks much for any info!
