Hi to all.... I hope you can help me with some advice.
In March 2008 I was involved in a rooad traffic accident where I suffered a partial tear to my PCL. My surgeon recomended a LARS operation and this was done about a month later. I had some problems with lateral stability due to the Vastus medialis (I think!) wasting away. I sorted these out with some fairly serious rehab work. I tried to get back into road running however, after any significant excersize (> 3miles) my knee swells up (by up to 3 cm vs. good knee). I am in a lot of pain and find it almost impossible to kneel down without significant problems. Recently I have tried swicthing to cycling but I am still getting a lot of pain / swelling. There also seems to be a lot of pain associated with the back of my Knee. I am worried - I am only early 40's and am seriously disapointed that even seemingly minor excersize is causing this much trouble. Clearly I need to go back to the Surgeon, but does anyone have any idea of what may be going wrong!!? I had full confidence in my surgeon, however more and more reports are coming out questioning his success rate...
Sorry to be vague and many thanks in advance for any advice....
