Quadriceps tendon decompression surgery
« on: August 18, 2011, 03:11:59 PM »
Hi all. I developed some anterior knee pain around 1 year ago following a long charity bike ride. I initially was referred to physiotherapy, and after 4-5 months with no improvement was then referred to orthopeadics. The MRI showed damage to my quadriceps tendon, the surgeon thought I may have sustained a small tear. I had a cortisone injection a few months back and have been off work since then having physio and attempting to rest the knee. My surgeon has said we will see how the injury responds with this treatment for 6 months, but if there is any worsening then he will consider tendon decompression surgery. I can't find that much about this procedure for my problem, has anyone out there been in a similar position?
