PRP and Stem Cell Injections for Patella Tear
« on: July 28, 2011, 02:58:36 AM »
I have been dealing with this pain for awhile.  Pain is severe directly under my left knee where the tendon attaches to the knee cap.

Has anyone had any experience using PRP or Stem Cell injections for this problem?  If so did it work for you?

If you haven't had any experience with PRP or stem cells, please share your thoughts on these 2 procedures.

My doctor wants to do the open knee surgery to cut the bad piece of tendon and reattach to the knee cap but is only giving it 60-70% odds of being successful.  I'm not really liking those odds.  So I was hoping to try PRP or Stem Cell injections. (I've tried prolotherapy without much successs)

Please let me know so I can make a decision.  Thanks

Thanks Dizzy.  I see in the post you mentioned that you had 2 PRP shots that seemed to help you.

I also see in your signature you had stem cell injections.  Did you find the stem cells to help?? Does it make sense to try PRP and then go to Stem Cells or jump directly to stem cells?
