TKR of right knee booked for 28th July

Hi,

My name is Janet and this is my first post, I found this forum when doing research about the TKR of my right knee, which is booked for 28th July. I am 52 and have three grown up kids. I have suffered with cartilage problems during the last 25 years, and have finally reached the point where nothing but TKR can help.  I am trying to stay positive and hopeful of a speedy recovery and more mobility than I have had for years post op, but it is so hard and I have to admit I am terrified! I didn't expect it to be this difficult getting my head around what I am about to do.  Any words of encouragement to help me stay calm would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, Janet. I saw your post and wonder how your surgery went? Well, I hope!

I'm particularly interested because I am planning a tkr on sept. 8 and pretty nervous about this decision. Long story short, I had a tibial plateau fracture almost a year ago and it has not healed well and I am in pain and have great difficulty walking and don't know what else to do.
