OATS recovery timeline?
« on: June 18, 2011, 06:32:04 PM »
Hello everyone, I'm new here since I want to know as much as I can about my procedure. I'm a 17 year old male who does a lot of rigorous physical exercise. I just had an OATS procedure done 5 days ago. My doctor said I could move my knee to my discretion, just no weight bearing. He said I should be able to walk in 3 weeks and possibly fully in 6 weeks. I'm just wondering how recovery generally is? Is it usually a success or are there problems? And would I be able to return to the lifestyle I had of physical exercise? I just think it would be a shame if a procedure that is supposed to help me, made me feel worse. Thanks to all.
