Non displaced patella fracture
« on: May 31, 2011, 03:19:51 AM »
Hello all,
I fractured my patella 3 weeks ago and have been checking out this site for the past couple of days and finally realized i should post some of my questions.  Like I stated I have a non displaced fracture of my left patella and have been in a ankle to thigh high immobilizer for the 3 weeks. My question is when I go back to the doctors in one week what should i expect for healing on my knee? I have put no weight on it so far and will I be able to at least walk on it after 4 weeks? How long untill i can ditch this immobilizer? I know, lots of questions but as you know you can go crazy at times like this. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Jarod - I have a different injury, but have you checked out the section The specialist's office --> bone breaks around the knee.  That's where the folks with patella injuries usually hang out.
