pinching sensation 4mon post op --2nd opinion??

Hi,

I had debridement, meniscus repair,and mpfl....pluss..(orthovisc) 2injections so far


Lots of quad wasting...........walking is ok but slow, the I will get a random fullness and pinch or rub.......just below and anterior patella....

My MRI is negative except for chondromalacia due to recurrent patella disloc/sublux..........

He says my patella is more in the groove now but if the tradeoff is catching, I am no better off than I was-((((

My OS thinks the issue is my patella defect catching.........the sensation when I walk occurrs--- randomly feels lower???

I feel scared to question him( i know its my knee and my life)

This random event happens and makes me limp and favor the knee........still doing PT daily at home.

I just feel I should be further along.

2nd opinion time??

A second opinion never hurts

4 months is kind of early to think about a 2nd opinion. 1)  Rehab from this surgery takes roughly around a year.  There is a pretty good chance that most of the issues you are worried about is because you are entirely too weak.  Keep working on PT.  2) Most OS's will not do a 2nd opinion so soon after a surgery.  Most will not see you until closer to a 6+ months/1 year unless there is a identified issue and you need a special skill.   

Keep working on rehab and remember that this is a marathon not a sprint.
