Burning Sensation Behind The Knee?
« on: April 16, 2011, 01:56:44 AM »
So, I am a fifteen year old dancer. I danced quite extensively from teh ages 6 to 9. My only injury was to my ankle. I have little to no arch in my foot. I am back dancing, and I am trying to regain my flexibility. The only problem is that whenever I try to fully extend my leg, behind my knee starts burning. I can not touch my toes while sitting or standing. I can not practice the splits because my knees hurt to bad to keep them in the position. When I stand and try to pull my leg up and to the side, my knee pops. It is really uncomfortable and it usually hurts. This burning feeling is unlike any other stretch I do. Please help me figure out what is wrong!

Hi there.  Why not get the burning and popping sensation checked out by a doctor?

It might not be anything more than a little rest will solve but if it is something that needs looking at further then you will know one way or another. :)
