11 months on and now good leg is sore
« on: April 11, 2011, 08:29:19 PM »
Hi fellow knee sufferers,
Iím now 11 months after 30% meniscus, fat pad and plica removal from my left knee
I had a lot of fluid problems and lost 4 inches from my quads.
My left leg is still quite weak but I can walk without a limp now  I have pain in my ham strings and patella tendon but nothing I canít live with.
I can now go up and down stairs with just very mild pain in my left knee.
The problem I have now is that my right leg muscles and tendons are really sore, I think due to compensating for the weak left one.
Has anyone else had this and how long did it last for?  Any tips or help would be appreciated.

Hi there.

I'm not familiar with your procedure, but I think you have hit the nail on the head! Over-compensation can cause many aches and pains. Your best bet would be to see someone about postural assessment.
My Post-op Diary:

Sep 2003: Major trauma to right knee; ruptured ACL, LCL, biceps femoris.
Sep 2003: LCL repair
Mar 2004: Lateral meniscus trim
Mar 2011: ACL + LCL/PLC recon w/L+R hamstring autograft
