Biomechanics Question
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:54:50 PM »
Hey All,

I just went through an anterior ankle cheilectomy to remove some pretty serious bone spurs from my tibia and talus on my right ankle. My left ankle is scheduled soon as well. I have lost "10-15 degrees" of dorsiflexion on both ankles. Part of the reason for the procedure was bilateral chondromalacia in my knees, the idea being that my kinetic chain is all screwed up and freeing up the ankles would help.

Has anyone had a procedure that has given them more dorsiflexion and allowed them to stretch their lower legs? What kind of changes should I expect to see in how my knees feel?

Thanks for any insight.
