Lateral Release - Issues after 2.5 Weeks
« on: March 14, 2011, 05:36:36 PM »
Hi,

I have a question I had lateral release on my right knee about 2.5 weeks ago. This weekend I did something really dumb and tried to go down some stairs. On the way down I stepped wrong  I guess and got a white hot shooting pain both up and down my leg. Last night I noticed that my ankle is now swollen some and my quad is still very achy.. Im just wondering if it is something I need to call my ortho about... or is it just something that will go away and not really an issue.

It would not hurt to put in a call to the OS's office.  You may have done nothing too bad, but it may ease you mind to ask.  Ankle pumps, ice and elevation again for a while should help with swelling. Keep up your PT.  If you are still in formal PT ask your PT person about it.
