Knee replacement
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:00:23 PM »
Hello everyone new to this so here goes
I am 50 yrs old about 30 years ago i had a bike accident which damaged  tib fib and knee the kneecap was damaged and removed also my leg is approx 2" shorter as a result of the accident.4 years ago i had key hole and a cleanout of the knee.
I do quite a lot of cycling which i am told is why i am still able to use my leg properly.
I  was told then that i could never have a knee replacement due to my lack of kneecap, does anyone know if it is possible to replace the knee joint without the kneecap or will it be too unstable due to the quad muscles not being held in place as i was told by the consultant.
