Post surgery ACI/MACI physio
« on: January 21, 2011, 04:50:30 PM »
Hi all !

I haven't been on here for a while, but have took comfort in reading similar situations to mine in the last couple of days.

I wondered if anyone has had the specific problem I'm having with arranging physio with their local hospital after having ACI/MACI surgery?
I had second stage MACI on 14th Jan and was discharged on the 17th Jan. I have had the hinged knee brace on since 15th Jan locked in extension, the ward physio and OS told me I would need some flexion added one week post surgery which should have been today (21st Jan) but my local hospital physio dept won't give me an appoinment for 8 weeks! I am absolutely astounded at the muck up between the two hospitals. I had the surgery at Stanmore under Mr Carrington and now it looks like I will be going back weekly for physio!

Is this common for your local hospital to just ignore the proceedures done by other trusts? Even with an urgent referral?
