13 years later should I have my ACL repaired?
« on: January 18, 2012, 03:40:05 AM »
chronic proximal moderate grade ACL tear (injury in 1998), current mri shows the former with grade 3 medial and lateral meniscus tears with possible additional tears on free edge, a moderate size lateral popliteal cyst with joint effusion, moderate chondromalacia affecting the patellofemoral and mild degenerative arthritic changes affecting medial and lateral knee compartments.  I am tired of the instability, the difficulty of going up and down stairs, the pain.  I have to wear a brace to ski.  Since surgery is needed now for the other problems should I have the ACL repaired too?
