Lifting with Grade 4 chondro?
« on: January 17, 2011, 12:20:22 AM »
Had surgery back in June, knee is just now feeling better, pretty much as 100% as its going to until I start really working it again. I am only 41 and although the patella has Grade 4 Chondro (bone on bone) I want to start lifting again.

I have been told no squatting ever again but I can deadlift and even leg press. Any trainers, PT's etc with experience in this care to give me their 2 cents?

I have grade 4 chondro' also. I am curious as to what kind of surgery you had? Was it supposed to "fix" the chomdromalacia?
'77- Rt knee menicus tear
'90 -2nd menscus tear
'91 -failed arthroscopy/partial menisectomy
patella dislocation 10/ 2010
Dx = grade 4 chondromalacia + synovitis + Meniscus tear + lax strained medial ligaments
Fall down the stairs 7/20/11 - mcl sprain + 2 meniscus tears
