opening wedge high tibial ostoetomy
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:46:24 PM »
Happy holidays to all.  My OS informed me that i am too young(50) for a knee replacement so my other option is the opening wedge high tibial ostoetomy procedure.  I live in the great white north so my OS told me he wants me to wait until spring until i get it done so i dont wipe out on the ice and snow on my crutches and mess myself up.  I would love to get some input on healing time and how much therapy is involved.  I have had my right knee scoped 4 times and my bone is on a severe angle thus causing multiply problems.  My OS has done all 4 scopes on my knee and i do have upmost faith in him.  I dont know if we can put our OS names seeing this is my first time on this site.  Well folks its Christmass eve so its time to chill with the family.  Best wishes to all and i look forward to your input. T.Y.V.M.
