Trochlear Dysplasia help
« on: December 22, 2010, 07:53:37 PM »
Hi all, after years of physio theyve finally diagnosed me with trochlear dysplasia, I first injured my knee at 15 and re injured it at 22, had several months of pyshio with no help.

When my knee is relaxed on the bed its pretty non existant, its pretty much on the side of my leg facing away from me, and when straightening it it "slips" back in at a certain angle quite some way, its causing me all sorts of problems and i want to get it fixed once and for all.

Been reffered to the top surgeon in norwhich ( he studied at lyon for some time apparently )

Have also been told ill be getting a lateral release, some cartilage clear up and im guessing some realigmnent, since my groove is almost invisible on the outside of my knee so theres nothing for it to sit in, How likely is a lateral release to mess my life up? ive seen so many bad stories on here.
