Leg weights - how often?
« on: December 21, 2010, 12:32:10 AM »
Apart from an early setback with infection (2nd op to clean it out and 1 week in hospital) my rehab from an ACL recon has gone smoothly since. I'm nearly 3 months post op (coming up on the 1st of Jan) and I was cleared to commence light leg weights late last week. I had my first session yesterday and I'm very sore today!! I did the following:

1) Hamstring Curls - 3 x 15 (10 kgs)
2) Leg Press - 4 x 15 (30 kgs)
3) Standing Calf Raises (20-25 kgs)

I'm hoping the experienced members of this forum can help me with this one being through this before - how many times a week should I be repeating the above? My PT didn't mention it and I forgot to ask (he is now on leave for a month)! I'm guessing like any body part I should only do this twice a week max? Then again as they are light weights I am wondering if I can push it to 3-4 times a week?

Thoughts?

Well I'm still sore (if anything more sore!) from doing the leg weights on Monday... I'm thinking of doing the same leg machines on Friday as should be ok by then.

Anyone else doing leg weights at the moment? If so how often?
