Do menisci heal?

We all know that the chief problem with articular cartilage damage is that it basically has no capacity to heal itself due to poor blood supply. I'm wondering if the the same is true for menisci?

Depends where the tear is, as to whether the blood supply is adequate to promote healing (and presumably the size of the tear)

I have myxoid degeneration of my medial meniscus and have been told that it will not heal/improve due to the poor blood supply. Would love to be wrong though!
