MRI Results in today-Dr. out til Monday
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:25:59 PM »
I got the results in from my MRI today but the dr will not be in the office again until Monday.
Here are the findings:
1. Complex tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus with radial and horizontal components extending to the posterior body.
2. Small joint effusion with fluid within the medial gastrocnemius bursa.
3. Focal areas of grade 3 cartilage loss and osteophyte formation involvin

I have been keeping my knee propped up for a week now.  I walk on it only when I have to.  Should I use crutches to keep from damaging anymore.  I have no insurance and really want to avoid surgery?  Do you think this is possible?  Recommendations anyone??

All I can recommend is that you stay off of it, speak to an orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible, and get his recommendations for treatment.

Did they give you any sort of advice for how to take care of your knee while awaiting your appointment?

Good luck!
