11 months after TKR, knee warm an tight.
« on: August 28, 2010, 01:25:44 AM »
I'm new here, so looking for someone who's had the same issues. Eleven months ago I had a TKR and unfortunately a fracture in the femur just above th replacement. OS put a titanium screw in the femur to hold the fracture. Had a leg brace for 6 weeks with little therapy. Screw came out last week because I was experiencing much pain at the head of the screw. For some time though I've noticed that my knee is warm and still feels like there's a rubber band around it. Getting ready for the next TKR in 2 weeks. Why are the soft tissues around the joint warm? Has anyone heard of an allergy to titanium? Don't want another one if my body doesn't like it. Suggestions? :-\

Can't answer your questions but maybe  posting in the TKR part of Knee Arthritis section would generate more responses.  There is a lot of support and advice  there from people who have had TKRs.
2001: first referral to OS for osteoarthritis in knees after about 5 years of OA pain.  Told I was too young for knee replacement.
