« on: August 25, 2010, 08:47:56 PM »
I HAD SURGERY JUNE 1 OF THIS YEAR FOR A TIBIAL PLATEAU FRACTURE, THEY PUT IN A PLATE, PINS, AND SCREWS. I AM NOW WEIGHT BEARING AND DOING WELL. HOWEVER AT MY DOCTORS APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY HE HAS DECIDED THAT MY HARDWARE WILL NEED TO COME OUT ONCE IT HAS BEEN IN THERE FOR A YEAR, SO SOME TIME NEXT JUNE OR SO. I AM JUST WONDERING WHAT TO EXPECT? WILL THE RECOVERY BE AS EXTENSIVE AS THIS FIRST GO ROUND HAS BEEN. WILL MY KNEE GET ALL STIFF AGAIN? MORE PHYSICAL THERAPY AGAIN? ANY HELP PLEASE. SCARED!!! :'( :'(

I still have my HW, but most people who have had theirs removed say that the recovery is much shorter and easier.  You might want to look in the Specialist's Office ---> Bone breaks around the knee - that's where most of the TPFs hang out.  There are a number of postings there about hardware removal (HWR)

You might also want to avoid typing everything in caps.  It looks like you're shouting.
