Post Cyst and ACI surgery support
« on: August 10, 2010, 04:35:51 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I hope someone can help me.

I recently had an autogenous cartilage implantation procedure (ACI) operation on the right side of my right knee to repair some wear on my articular cartilage. However, prior to this operation my main problem was a shooting pain from the left side of the same knee (the opposite side to the damage).

I had this ACI 3 weeks ago today, and the surgeon said the implant went well. He also found a cyst on the left side of the knee exactly where my pain was... brilliant I thought, its finally sorted.

However, now I ma touch weight bearing and every touch of the my foot on the floor brings a sharp pain on the left side, worse than before. Ican only assume this is where the cyst was removed.

Has anyone had a cyst removed before and can they advise of the symptoms post operation? It would be good to know what to expect and how they heal etc. It would also be good to know if my symptoms warrant further inspection or if this is normal.

Thank you everyone!

Tom
