Open Knee Surgery?

Hi there
Could somone tell me a little about open knee surgery?  I have had an arthroscopy to remove a meniscal tear - so I know all about that procedure.  But my OS wants me to have open surgery to remove a large meniscal cyst. There is not much info out there on open surgey I can find, mostly arthroscopy.  If anyone has any info and experiences please post them?

I have had 2 open procedures and am going to be having another one on the 22nd.

What is it exactly that you want to know?

I've had two open procedures also. It's more painful and the recovery is longer but otherwise there's not a lot to tell. You get a lot of staples and a big ugly scar out of the deal.
