Swelling after patella dislocation
« on: June 29, 2010, 12:46:25 AM »
I have been having issues with my patella becoming dislocated for about 6 years (in both legs).  Most recently I dislocated my right knee in a drunken dance off with one of my friends (lol/dumb).  Which is all fine.  I know how to handle it mostly and to care of it to the best of my ability.  But I have a question.  Its been about 3 weeks and the swelling still hasn't gone down fully.  It has gone down since the day after I first injured it.  Normally I go to the doctor and he removes the fluid with a needle but that isn't really an option right now since I have no insurance and they want to charge me $230.00.  Will the swelling eventually go away on its own.  I can already walk on my injured leg and don't need crushes anymore.  The only issue from the dislocation is I can't bend my knee to is maximum bendiness (err sorry) and have to travel slowly when going down steps.  It feels strong mostly and can hold my weight while bent for a little while.

Any information you could provide me with would be great.  Hope this wasn't to long.  I am very new here.

Thanks,

Dell
