Why did surgeon put a valgus slant on my new TKR
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:34:57 PM »
I had a right TKR at the end of March. I noticed that of all the patients in physiotherapy classes, my new knee has a decided cant to it. My lower leg is not straight down like my left tibia. Why would the surgeon do that? I'm sure that I was not knock-kneed prior to the surgery so why would he make it stick out now! I did ask him at the two month visit and I received vague explanations, like it was the best angle for the new prothesis. Everyone else in my water therapy group looks normal and can put their heels together but I can't!
