(and have missed out an some tasty lunches with KG pals!)

xx

Hmm lunches with KGers(?) - what a fabulous idea.
All good wishes for tomorrow - look forward to hearing how it goes.

Tez - for the first time in 17 years we won't be making our trip this summer to see our friends who stay around 40 miles away from you - such a shame as I'm sure we could have managed to organise something  ;)

Clarus thanks so much for the good wishes their much appreciated  :)
I hope things are going well for you and the knee is not causing too much trouble how in your rehab coming along?
Sounds like some of us are missing out on these tasty lunches, oh well I often eat a wee sandwich while having a read on this board I wonder if that counts.
Where abouts do your friends stay we are in Greenock its about 30 miles west of Glasgow and today has been absolutly beautiful the sun has been shining and the scenery around the clyde is amazing unfortunatly it rains more often than its nice so we dont get the chance to appreciate it often.
Thats a shame you wont be up in my neck of the woods this year cos you could have joined me in a sanwich and a wee read of this board lol [I think we could do better than that really]
I hope your feeling good and your knee is improving
Snowy remember happy positive thoughts for tomorrow and Cosmic happy healing thoughts also for tomorow
Take care Tez

Hey Tez
Things are fine here, moving slowly but steadily forward. I've discovered today I can walk very slowly up the stairs  'properly' (no chance coming down like that yet :o) I did text the physio to ask her if it was ok to do it tho!

Our friends stay just north of Kilsyth - not a million miles from you, we've also some friends in Broomhill in Glasgow, assorted friends in various parts of Edinburgh and a timeshare (currently early January) near Aberfoyle.
Maybe sometime we'll  get to share a sandwich (and maybe a wee drinkie  :) )

Clarus would your time share by any chance be forest hills!!! if so my parents had one there for years and we would spend a lot of time there especially when my kids were small, theirs was the last week in May and we have had some fantastic weather at that time, unfortunatly we made the decision to sell after my Dad passed away and now my Mum has advanced dementia so it wouldnt be the same without them. If it is the same place I am quite jelous cos I have some brillient memories of the whole family having holidays there.
Excellent news about the stairs!!!! way to go girl
as for the drinkie ;D someones been talking you've found out one of my favorite things to do lol
Take care Tez

Knee Geek get-togethers...what a great idea! So far I've only found one other KGer in my immediate area, so we'd be a pretty small gathering. Tez, I think you're actually closer to Tony in Newfoundland than I am, even though he and I are in the same country! When I next get back to the UK to visit family it would be neat if we could coordinate a get together (one of my sisters lives in Stirling so Scottish visits are a definite possibility). Mind you, with knee surgery this year it will probably be a while before my next visit...

Yep, we've had 2 excellent KG lunches of me, Cosmic and Vickster - each time the dessert platter has been hit hard. Yummy.

Cosmic has entertained the poor waiter man by commenting "how stiff it feels in the morning" or words to that effect, I've been presented with a variety of Sponge Bob gifts (my bad knee has acquired a square edge, looks like Sponge Bob...), Vickster has demonstrated her continuing pain on slopes by sliding down the car park, and we've generally been badly behaved.

Next lunch will see a new ACL part and possibly me in a Beckham-esque foot boot if I gets the foot done first!  ;D ;)

I tell you, I would happily not have knee issues, but its brought me some good friends!

Your right Snowy,

in terms of distance and the such Tez is closer to me than you are. However Once I get this knee thing all sorted out and get into the RCMP I have a funny feeling I will be stationd out west for a while so, I could very well end up in your area :)

I plan on coming out there, where the action is :) lol. I lived in Alberta before but that's the closest to BC I've ever been! I have a good friend living in vancouver now so maybe in a year or so I could arrange a visit ?

That would be awesome! Vancouver is such a great place, especially if you're fit/outdoorsy - there's just so much great stuff to do here. If you and I have our new ACLs and are up to speed again by then, I'll take you on the Grouse Grind (also known as "Nature's Stairmaster.") It's 3km of pretty rough terrain that takes you straight up the side of Grouse Mountain. At the top your reward is spectacular views over Vancouver and the Pacific Ocean, and a restaurant where you can have a well-earned beer. :)

That's it guys - stuff Newbury... we need to go to Vancouver for our next luncheon! :-)

As Lottie says we have a scream - no alcohol involved.... but riotous chuckles, belly guffaws and tears of laughter.... and suddenly there's much less cloud and much more silver lining :-).

Tez - remind me where in Scotland you live?

Actually chaps - I think I'm not far from halfway between Cosmic and Tez - near Leeds. Always willing to act as 'coffee stop' (Cakes included ;D ;D)

...and that makes Lottie halfway from you to me....

So much time, so little mobility   :-\ !

I can get a flight with Flybe from Bournemouth to Manchester for 3.80 each way... seriously! However by the time fees are added it's 85 return LoL!. Bournemouth to Leeds service is in the pipeline. Glasgow works out at twice the price!
This is what happens when I have time on my hands!

Friday chaps - have a great weekend whatever you have planned!
