Back to townsend
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:31:39 AM »
I'm going to go back to using a rebel or a premier ci brace, considering getting one custom made,
All my other braces have been ots,
Does anybody use a custom model? And are they worth the extra expense?
Townsend have put me in touch with beagle ortho in blackburn, got to make an app 2 get measured up.

I use a normal Rebel and do not have any probs with the fit at all.

I think the modular construction allows them to mix and match to your needs. Having an orthopaedic technician who REALLY knows how to measure and fit the brace is the key in my opinion.

I've worn mine all day every day for all my skiing so far this season (approx. 45 days or so far) and all my flying last season. Never slipped once and has held up without a hitch.

Thanks for your input sue,
I'm going to see the brace people on wed', i've never had any prob's with ots braces they've always been a good fit, i've used a rebel 99 pro brace when my knee 1st went it was without doubt the best brace i've used unfortunately it was pinched! I've seen the new rebel and the hinges look a lot slimmer than the old model, i'll probably go for a ots brace i'll see what my options are wed'

Well i've been using my new townsend for 2 weeks now, it's very easy to wear & very lighweight it's a carbon fibre custom ci model, I decided to go the custom route as it better suites my needs, my knee feels incrdibly stable when playing badmington with the new brace, to say i'm pleasf with it is a understatement.
