Fractured patella
« on: March 30, 2010, 05:35:25 PM »
I have been having knee problems for a few years now (If i twist it it completely pops out and i am unable to walk for a couple days)...  3 days ago i twisted on the ice and my knee popped out and twisted as i fell down.  Went to the local medi center as i dont have a family doctor.  They sent me to get xrays and called the next day to come in.  They said the xray showed what looked like a fresh fracture on my  patella aswell as an old fracture on the patella.
However i am able to walk on it now with it supported in a brace with minimal pain so the doctor cant figure it out and said i shouldnt be able to.  She is referring me to an orthapedic surgeon but it will be between 1-2 weeks before i even get booked for an appointment so who knows how long.
When my leg is extended while laying down, i can not do a straight leg raise.

The doctor herself said shes by no means an expert so just wondering what you guys would suggest.  Wait for an appointment with an orthapedic surgeon or get another opinion sooner
