Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I updated. So, thought I would let you know what is happening.

My scope on my right knee is on Monday. Will be glad to get it out of the way. Apparently it is new damage. Not sure how it happened though.

Had the TAC pre-case conference. They are going to back date all my meds from 2007 and pay them ongoing. So a good win. A few things they rejected, but working out what to do next. The TAC are such morons and don't give a stuff about their clients and how much they suffer before decisions are made.

Hi Kisrty,

Good luck on Monday and hope it will be the last surgery on your knee, as you been through a fair amount already. Good news about the TAC and managed to get some money back again and know you have had problems in the passed with the TAC.

Hi Kirsty,

Was thinking of you most of day and hope your surgery went ok and knee surgery #9 will be your last. Take things easy for the next few days and ice your knee as often as you can. I will try and chat to you on Skype let me know when's the best time to chat as I have Skype on my mobile phone and have unlimited internet access. I had a chat last night with my sister in South Afirca and the line was crystal clear.

Hi All,

Sorry it's taken a little while to post.

Been extremely drowsy the past two days.

The op went well. Had another chrondroplasty of my right knee. My surgeon said it went well and the trochleoplasty had healed well, which was one of the concerns. Thank god for that !

Been using my cryocuff a lot and keeping up my pain meds. Started doing the exercises from the sheet my surgeon gave me. Go back to see him in two weeks.

Glad for the good news on the chrondroplasty. Probably just some rough spots on the kneecap or something eh?  The surgery and the pain meds can make you really tired.  Keep up the exercises and keep us posted.

Hi Kirsty,

Glad the surgery went ok and are now back home recovering and may it be your last surgery on your right knee. Good news about the trochleoplasty healing up well and not too long till you see your OS again. The meds will make you feel drowsy, keep on iceing and wear the cryocuff when you can.

Thanks, Nick and Milly.

So good to catch up on sleep too.

My back is killing me at the moment. I am seeing my physio next week on Wednesday. Not able to drive this week, so can't get there. I have left a message with my doctor to see what other suggestions he has. Probably not a lot they can do.

Can basically walk inside without crutches.

Hey Kirsty,

Missed your op date, sorry haven't been on here for a while.  How are you feeling, I'm sure this will be your last recovery from surgery, from the sounds of things the trochleoplasty has cleared up well so that's great news!! Lots of CryoCuffing and exercises..I don't envy you though, I remember what a pain the whole thing was.  Keep us all posted.

Love Annie  ;)

P.S. I jogged on treadmill last week for the first time, soo happy :-)

Sorry about the back, but it probably does not like the elevating and sitting in one spot so much.  Probably not liking the gait either at the moment.  Hope they can help somewhat.  I know it was hard to do some back exercises after my last surgery.  Also I found the SLRs will irritate a bad back.  Try proping yourself up on your elbows and doing them, it makes it harder on the quads, but takes some pressure off the low back.

Hi All,

My knee is feeling better each day. Today I was able to walk around the house without a limp mostly. Today I spent about 5 hours out of bed. Tomorrow I plan to try going out for a while. My Dad is going to drive me to the chemist. So, will see how it goes.

Still got to be careful. Accidentally twisted my knee getting in to bed tonight and was very painful.

Yes, Annie it is a pain but so much easier than the open surgeries I've had. The concern is that I keep getting cartilage damage under the knee cap. Just hope it doesn't mean I am heading towards a replacement. Fingers crossed. Great stuff about being able to jog on the treadmill. Keep up the good work !

Milly, you're probably right. Thanks for the tip. Will try that and see how it goes.

My back is still killing me. Did leave a message for my doctor, but will try ringing again tomorrow.

Hi Kirsty,

Sorry you are now in pain with your back as well as your knee but expect some pain with your knee and the last thing you need is back pain. You might need to get your back checked out by an OS as it has been a problem for a while now. Maybe your physio can do something to ease the back pain if you can get to see him next Wednesday.

Hey Silk!

Its nice to hear youre feeling better!
I dont know if you remember me but I made a post a while back asking for a doctor that did trochleoplasties. Anyways, I had a trochleoplasty 4 months ago and wanted to know if I could have your email to chat a bit about the recovery process, how youre feeling now, etc.

i hope you recover soon!
Ill keep you in my prayers
