This afternoon I spoke with my knee surgeon's rooms again as I hadn't heard back about the MRI. My OS still hasn't given them an answer. So they will call me back on Monday. If not, I will call on Tuesday. Just want to get the scans out of the way.

My physio said that we can go through the results before my appointment so that we know what we are dealing with.

I spoke to him again tonight and was really helpful.

Hi Kirsty,

I really wish you the best of luck in getting an MRI done and then finding out the results to find out what needs to be done next to get your knee right again. Keep onto your OS like you are going to do if he does not contact you on Monday. Hope you can enjoy the weekend and are not in too much pain and discomfort.

Hi Nick,

My OS is not planning to do a MRI yet. He said it is unlikeky to change the management. My OS told his PA that he'd assess the situation when he sees me on the 5th of December. I am having some X-rays just before I see him.

Today I was in sooooo much pain. It is soooo unrelenting.

I left a message for my old physio and called back tonight, but missed his call. Hopefully I will speak with him tomorrow. Just hope he can write a note to my OS.

Also spoke with my Orthotist about an appropriate brace. He wants me to speak to my OS first. There is a new brace on the market by Rehband.

Hi All,

I spoke to the physio today. He said my OS willbe getting the x-rays to look at my bone alignment and tracking of my knee cap.

This afternoon I spoke to my Sports Physician and has suggested increasing one of my meds. So, hopefully that will help. Other than that he said there is nothing else I can do.

I have made an appointment with my Orthotist to see if there are any suitable braces. He will still have to pass everything by my knee surgeon. Very annoying !!!

12 days till I see my knee surgeon. Waiting is so horrible.

Hi Kirsty,

Sorry you are still in a lot of pain and hope the meds and brace will reduce the pain slightly for you until you see your OS. Good that you can see your Sports Physician before seeing your OS and looks like he can only do so much to help you out before seeing your OS. The X-rays may spot what's causing all the knee pain and how to go about treating it.

Thanks for your support. It means a lot.

Woke up in pain again so using my Cryo Cuff and will try going to sleep again.

Fingers crossed the scans show something and my OS can figure out a treatment plan.

Milly, have you ever had any injections for your patella arthritis like Synvisc ? If so, did they work for you ? Glad you are getting some help with your back.

I've had both cortizone and synvisic for my knee.  The cortizone only worked once, the other times it caused a huge flare.  The synvisic helped a tiny bit, not enough for the multiple times you have to go in.  My OS at the time did not think it would help, but it would not really hurt anything either.

Yeah the back is somewhat better. It's a bit sore from the injections, but feels somewhat better. Hurting a bit more as the anesthesia part wore off.  It can take the cortizone up to a week to begin working, so we will see.  At least the back has calmed down enought the right knee is letting me know how bad it is.  Not sure that's necessarily a good thing or not.

Take care and hope the pain gets better.

Thanks, Milly. I am going to ask my OS about the option of injections.

Just want some pain relief. The change in meds has done nothing.

I am seeing my Orthotist in the morning to look at braces. Hope something may help.

Just a week to see my surgeon. Can't come soon enough !

Hi Kirsty,

Less then a week till you see your OS and pleased you do not have to wait too much longer to see him. Hope your Orthotist can fit you with a brace that will help support the knee as it better then nothing even if it reduces the pain slightly.

Hi Nick,

I was hoping to get a brace but my Orthotist wants me to check with my OS first. He wonders if I have torn my ACL or the patella isn't tracking. Something weird is going on.

Really tired of the pain.

So, it will be a quiet weekend for me.

Ended up going back to ED as I have been in a lot of pain.

He thinks I have a medial meniscus buckle handle tear or injured my medial collateral ligament. Most likely meniscus tear.

Having a MRI on Monday morning.

My OS will have the MRI report within 24 hours. Can't wait to see his face !

Hi Kirsty,

Pleased that you are having an MRI done on Monday and only have to wait 24hrs for the results. I bet you cannot wait for this year to end as it not been a great year for you and your health. I have not had a great year so looking forward to 2012 if I can find a new job otherwise will be another bad year if I have to stay at my current job!

Hi All,

I had my MRI today. It was actually quite painful. That has never happened before. I dropped them off at my surgeon's rooms afterwards plus the report from emergency. The MRI report is going to my Sports Physician and old physio as well as my knee surgeon. So, I should get some idea this week.

Today I spoke with my Pilates Physio and was soooooo rude !! She suggested that I am not committed enough to my rehab, which made me angry. So, I told her I was not interested in continuing the conversation and hung up. I am doing everything in my power to get better. Have paid $500 up front for Pikates sessions but I will be asking for it back. Won't be going there again.

Just hate when physios give up like that.

I spoke with my psychologist tonight and said I am doing all the right things plus more.

She said everyone is 110% behind me , which was good to hear.

My psychologist is happy to talk with my surgeon and said not to doubt myself.
