Hello World,

I'm new to this and my brother told me about this site (he's had 3 knee surgeries).

I have been having some knee pain in my right knee, in the left corner of my right knee.  There's no pain while walking.  And when I squat, I can distribute my weight so that my knee doesn't hurt, but when I balance on my right leg and kind of bend down, I feel the pain.  I also feel it when I walk down the stairs, but not walking upstairs.  Also, lately, in my office, when I'm sitting down for a long period of time and then get up from my chair, both my knees crack.  I have been taking some ibuprofen and icing my knee, but it still hurts.

Any ideas on what might be going on?  I'm wondering too if it might just be the weather since we got so much snow in the past week here.

Thanks again!

Hello,
I would go to the doctors as it sounds as if it could be cartilage. It can move and that it what could be cuasing the popping and crackking sounds. As for the pain it could be a mixture of cartilage and liagment problems. If it's on the inside of your knee and your knee feels loose then it may be a torn medial ligament.
As for pain killers a mixture of paractomal and ibprofen is really all you can take until you visit the doctors.
Best of luck
Amy

I was thinking along the same lines too.  sigh*  I just hate going to the doctor, I've been once with my left knee and now my right.  Well, thank you again!

Hi

Regardless that you hate visiting a Doctor, it is essential that you seek a professional opinion - your knee is a valuable limb and should not be neglected.

Best wishes

It definately sounds like cartilage, especially if its affect one knee before.
Sorry dude you need to get down yourself down the doctors.

Yep, I just made an appointment for next Friday, which is the earliest they had.  But now I hear a crunching noise when I bend down to tie my shoelaces... dont' know what's going on, but I guess I'll find out on Friday..
