Hi

I would suggeest that you have a good read of the previous on this thread which covers ruptured Patella Tendon.

How did you sustain your injury?    Where do you live?

Please be free to ask any questions, depending on how serious is the partial tear of your tendon, then surgery will be the only option.

I am sending you in any case, three documents which will give you an idea of the rehab procedure.

Best wishes

HI

The MRI should be able to describe the reason for the burning sensation felt at the top of the RPT -  Just hope that you do not require invasive surgery, which would place you on a long road to recovery.
