I have grade 3 -4 grade arthritic changes in my knees. The past few days, my knees have been killing me. Can the change in weather (onset of cold) cause a flare up in arthritis symptoms?

Sure. Mine is esp. bad when it gets cold, as well as when it rains.

Oh yes! My knees are like barometers. I can be far more accurate than the weather person. It's mostly the right now that I have had the PFJR on the left. I am in the blizzard thing in the Midwest US and my right knee REALLY hates this artic cold and snow. It ain't too happy with rain either.

My knees are worse when it rains than in the cold, but they definitely sense changes in pressure! If it is cold I have a home remedy that seems to help - I've got a big fleecy sock that I opened at the toe end and I wear it pulled up around my knee under my jeans. For some reason it really helps, especially as my OA changes are under the medial patella so it keeps it kind of warm and snuggly. Not the sexiest thing to reveal under your trousers but who cares if it helps!! I don't tend to wear a support unless I'm exercising so the sock does the trick. I'm just weird.....
