can anyone share their experiences?
I am 6 weeks after my ACL reconstruction.
In the first two weeks I had a lot of swelling and stiffness and my range of motion was minimal (maybe 5 or 10 degrees).
At the two week mark I was diagnosed with a DVT in my leg, including above the knee. A few days after commencing blood thinning medication the stiffness and swelling began to go down I started getting movement back.
Now at the 6 week mark I get to about -15, maybe a little better on the extension, and 60 on flexion if I pull my leg towards me while sitting down, a bit more if I use my other leg and gravity to push it down.
This is way behind the range of motion after a 'normal' reconstruction. I am still on crutches and do not feel confident trying to fully weight bear, due to a range of pains in my foot/ankle/knee/muscles (it varies). I am having regular physio and doing my exercises.
Have others had similar problems recovering their range of motion and walking, and what did they do about it?
