i'd really like to hear your success stories, even if you've had problems along the way

i love snowboarding and have been getting bi-lateral Synvisc injections every 6 months for the past 5 years -- the last series seems to have stopped working after just 8 weeks

my Right knee has had ACL repair '88, ACL reconstruction '90, infection '91, remove hardware '92, cleaning '04 -- and now has moderate-severe pain all the time, even sitting/walking

at appt w/os yesterday, x-rays showed all 3 compartments now bone-on-bone -- os is wakeboarder who loves jumping waves so he empathizes w/me but says the "only thing left to do is a TKR"

i'm only 49 yo
