Painful to sit down
« on: August 25, 2009, 04:28:43 PM »
I hope this is the right place to post this, I had knee surgery a few years ago and have struggled since with various pain and muscle strength issues.   In the last couple of years my problem has become more in the sides of my thigns/buttock area which in turn makes my knees ache like crazy.  Initially my doctor diagnosed piriformis syndrome but I'm not so sure as I don't get the sciatic pain and after more than 12 months of doing all the exercises the problem is still there.  I can't bear to sit for long and driving is a nightmare.

What I'm wondering is I feel that the original problem I had with my knee seems to be just as bad some days which leads me to think that the problem is coming from a different area such as my hip or buttock area and I was misdiagnosed.  I feel I'm going round in circles and not getting a proper diagnosis from anyone.

Can anyone offer any advice?
