Hi Sharon~
Yup! I'm a gramma. Put Roxy in her crate around midnight after fluffing it up with some old towels. She was still doing that nesting thingy. Must've been out of it cause she was right next to me and I woke up at 6 to find her with 2 pups. They were whining. Little alarm clocks, lol. Wasn't thinkin' and went to move her as she was laying right ontop of one. Got nipped...ouch! Lil bugger! Is she ever protective or what? Is that normal? Anyhow, they are sooo cute!!! One appears to be dark sable (may lighten up, though) and the other is solid black. No bigger than mice, hee-hee! Now, we're gonna have people fighting cause everybody wants one. I'll get the camera ready whenever she's ready to let us pose 'em up.
For now, mama needs a bath in the worst way. Nasty Pee-U!!
KG support while going through this ickiness is just awesome! I'm excited to see how she does after gettin' fixed up! She'll be bionic, too!! Being in the hospital is just way too boring so, I hope she'll like the company, as well. Help! Don't leave me here alone guys! LOL!
Have a good one. I need a bandaide! Darn it, she broke the skin!

– Glad the block finally wore off and you can trust the leg again. It’s too weird when you can’t feel it I’m sure. I think I managed to get most everything done ahead. Anything else will just have to wait.
Sharon
– Yep the bike is mine. I would dearly love to get back to riding it. I have been afraid to because the left knee buckles at odd moments and I don’t want to ride with all the pain killers I need to get through a day. Hope this surgery helps that and I can ride again, maybe end of fall. If not, then next spring. Not sure when I’ll be discharged, but I imagine I will be in at least 24 hours, so possible Thursday evening, but maybe not till Friday AM. Just depends I guess.
Heather
- I think that would be nesting. Sounds like it to me. We do plan to go down the night before. Not sure if he is staying again surgery day or not. My son wants to come down with us, so not sure if he’ll just want to get him home or what. I told my boy that it may be boring sitting around the hospital, but he still wants to go. He is a worry wart though, so it may be better for him to see me first hand after. I think I am going to leave the old sticks home and get a shiny new pair. The wooden ones are a bit too tall when I am bare foot, so a pair I can adjust down would be a help. I’ve never had to use them as long as I’m going to need them so it was never much of an issue. Congrats “Gramma”. Momma dogs get very protective of their babies so go slow. Got bit in the shoulder as a kid by moving too fast around a new momma dog. I would like the company. Just will warn you that I can get grumpy when I hurt a lot (but can’t we all) so don’t take any possible grouching personally.
Well all
– got the bag packed and all the laundry done. Need to type up laundry instructions and note cards for sorting baskets. I think my daughter will take over laundry, she does not want dad to wash her stuff. My pillow should arrive Thursday or Friday. I hope. If not then Monday next week. I’m sure I’ll manage until then if I have too.
Well got a few work things to finish.

Good luck Milly, the block is a piece of cake, no pain or discomfort. Then again that may be due to the Versed they shot into the IV first. It rocks with post up pain, but it doesn't handle all of it so when pain is at a 2 or 3 get some meds on board before it creeps up on you or you'll be acting like Roxy squirming and grumpy LOL.
Heather, glad to hear you have 2 healthy pups. Anymore surprises, no sneaking up on the new mom, her instinct is to protect those little buggers.

Milly! You're a biker chica! That's cool--you'll be back on that beasty again, but good call not riding on those pain meds. Getting on a big ole bike was what did in leftie many years ago--kicking leg over the sissy bar thing and did a total dislocation of the grounded knee. Had to whaap it back in place from the back of the knee. Yuck yuck and yuck. Beginning of saga....!!!! BTW, I love and use your idea for long posts now--Word docs then copy/paste-awesome!!!!
Sue: sooo good to hear the block is a piece of cake! So how are you doing? Do you still need to use 2 crutches??? How are stairs?

Sharon,
No doubt about it using Word first rocks. Now I don't often poof the post, and if I do, I still have it sitting in Word. Then I can save it for later if the computer is flaky. I miss riding my bike. I've had one almost constantly since I got out of high school (I bought a litte 250 with my grad money). Thankfully most of the bikes I ride, no sissy bars. My whole trip begain with a sledding incident and a big cinder block. Youch!

Hi Milly!!!
Tomorrow's the big day!!! Wishing ya the best of luck!
Tell Sawbones to Git R done, ok? I wonder how sore his thumbs get from his job? LOL!! I DO think you'll like the block, he recommends it as did the anesthesiologist. Just couldn't talk me into the general + block combo...ha-ha! I'm stubborn. Ain't no newby at knee surgery so, this gal went with the tried and true spinal + "knock me out" meds combo. Worked out ok again anyhow. The block would've been lovely after the ORIF but was never offered.
Awww...your son sounds like such a sweetie! Worried about his mama, I'll bet he is. Mine was, too. Had he not had school, I'd have let him tag along. DH stayed in a hotel the night after surgery, too. So, he could've just hung with dad. Does he have anything to keep himself busy like a portable DVD or handheld games? Being right there would probably make him feel better, though.
Grumpy KG's ha-ha-ha!!! I was, too! So out of it, I barely remember Steph and Tim coming to see me out of surgery. Steph said she was the only one allowed to fetch my bags from the truck and a soda. I told her Chris was ignoring me and I needed my "stuff" brought up, lol. That day was a big ole blur until maybe midnight. Guess I was even worse after being so nauseated...just felt like ick! Think the Toradol didn't agree. Hopefully, you'll feel better by the next day, too!
I got your PM. Are you ok? Rollercoaster city, huh? Yup! I hear ya! We can chat more in person, if you'd like. You're never gonna believe what's going on now! D-r-a-m-a! I'm running away....
Hope to see you in a few days!!! Take care!!
