Mystery Knee Problem
« on: May 13, 2009, 12:46:30 AM »
3 months ago, while at football training a ball rolled quickly into my shin unexpectedly and pulled my left knee. At the time I didnít feel much pain at all and didnít think much of it, but within an hour of continuous training my knee started to get very painful and I had to stop training. Since then I have not been able to jog or run for more than 5 minutes continuously without my knee becoming so sore that I need to stop.

The pain is felt on the outside of my left knee just below my kneecap.

I have had an Xray and an MRI and nothing has shown up, my specialist is at a loss to explain why iím experiencing this pain and has advised the only option left is to have surgery and theyíll look within the knee that way.

I do not feel any pain at all when Iím walking, and as I mentioned I can jog or run for up to 5 minutes without pain before it starts to get sore.

It has not become any better or worse since the initial injury occurred.

Does anyone know of anyone else that has experienced something similar and may be able to explain what is going on?

Needless to say it is extremely frustrating.

Thanks, Ben

One further thing is that I have never experienced any swelling.
